Collaborations

The Swedish Chamber Orchestra participates in a number of ongoing collaborations to support both productions and external development. Among its many partner-collaborators are presenters, schools, cultural institutions and other music groups.

Länsmusiken i Örebro AB is part of a subsidiary company of the city of Örebro, called Rådhuset AB. Länsmusiken i owned by 91% by the city of Örebro and by 9% by the municipal agency of Örebro. In the centre of the organization is the Swedish Chamber Orchestra, and from its programming develops a multitude of creative partnerships in support of the cultural life of the region.

Each season, the Swedish Chamber Orchestra collaborates with both Swedish and international soloists and conductors. Also, new productions are developed along with other artists and organizations in the arts. As described under the heading "Youth", the orchestra is actively involved in opportunities offered to youth exploring classical music and is oftentimes presenting new productions created together with participating school. Also, in the Fall of 2009, the Swedish Chamber Orchestra collaborated with World Youth Choir as part of the new international choir centre, SWICCO, founded in Örebro in 2009.

Twelfth Night invites all of Örebro to the Swedish Chamber Orchestra's New Year's concert. Every other year a traditional classical New Years concert is offered and in the other years the orchestra oftentimes presents a program blending different genres of music, for example folk and world music along with classical music, or musical theatre and classical music.

Moreover, the Swedish Chamber Orchestra has participated in programming offered at Opera på Skäret, both in touring programs and in opera productions, and is also involved in concert programming for the students at Örebro University.

Simultaneosly with a full program at home in Örebro Concert Hall, the Swedish Chamber Orchestra has developed an international reputation thanks to world-wide CD distribution and touring.
