Whether performing abroad, in Örebro, or in other parts of Sweden, the Swedish Chamber Orchestra is widely perceived as a trademark that profiles all of the region of Örebro. Spring 2008, at the local merchant's annual gala in Örebro, the Swedish Chamber Orchestra won an award for Ambassador 2007 for the city of Örebro.
Each Fall and Spring Season, the Swedish Chamber Orchestra presents subscriber series as well as additional concerts at special events in Örebro. Most of the seats in Örebro Concert Hall are sold on subscribtion, but there are also single tickets available in advance of each concert.
The annual New Year's Concert and Gala at Örebro Concert Hall takes place around the first weekend of January and attracts about 500 guests.
In the Spring of 2008, the SCO along with the City's central merchants will host a special event to boost participation in a new corporate collaboration with the Örebro Concert Hall. In the Fall of 2008, the SCO will give a classical concert at the local soccer club's 100th Anniversary.
The SCO is ever growing in popularity since its founding in 1995. More than 50% of its audience is young adults and school children, and the Thursday subscriber series reached nearly 95% capacity Fall 2007.
